Golden badge of honor for 24 years parish council

There were also farewells and new beginnings in the Catholic parish of St. John the Baptist in Fahr am Main. The old parish council was dismissed and the new parish team welcomed. At a service, Isabel Wemhöner and Theresa Scheuring were said goodbye with a certificate of thanks. There was also a warm welcome for the new members of the new community team Benedikt Braun, Hilde Engert, Christiane Gehring, Alexandra Meusert, Renate Meusert, Marina Nikola, Sabine Nikola, Nicole Pfrang and Alexandra Remmert. What is new is that no chairman or other officials were elected. Renate Meusert was delegated for the pastoral council. Otherwise, the new parish team, supported by the church administration, would like to complete the upcoming tasks as a team. This approach is also possible from the new statutes for parish teams from the Diocese of Würzburg. Since some members of the new church team could not be there, a group picture will be published in the next church newsletter.

Pastoral officer Malte Krapf has taken on the role of accompanying the parish team from the pastoral care team of the St. Benedikt pastoral room. In his speech, Pastor Johannes Hofmann underlined the necessity and importance of this body for the entire community.

Finally, the climax came when Anita Nowak was honored for 24 years of membership in the parish council, 20 of which as chairwoman. In earlier years, Mrs. Nowak had started groups that are still important today, such as the children’s church, the World Day of Prayer for Women and family services. Thus, on behalf of Bishop Dr. Franz Jung presented Mrs. Nowak with the Golden Badge of Honor of the Diocese of Würzburg with a certificate. Church caretaker Martin Weidinger gave the Fahr congregation a gift and an extra thank you.

In her acceptance speech, Anita Nowak recalled the many highlights of community life over the past 24 years. The visits of prominent representatives of church and politics were particularly important to her.
