Gold prices witnessed a sharp decline in evening trading today, Saturday, with a gram losing more than 500 pounds at once, affected by the decline in the price of the dollar in the parallel market, and coinciding with the announcement of the Central Bank of Egypt to raise the interest rate by 2% on deposits and lending last Thursday.

The price of 18 carat gold fell to 3050 pounds per gram.

The price of 21 carat gold reached 3,560 pounds per gram.

The price of 24 karat gold fell to 4172 pounds per gram.

The price of the gold pound fell to 29,200 pounds. The price may vary from one merchant to another, and this price is equal to the value of gold in the pound.

Gold prices have witnessed a series of record highs over the past few days, with a gram of 21 carat exceeding the level of 4,100 pounds, which is the highest historical level recorded.
