Gold prices fell during trading on Saturday in the local market, by 4 pounds compared to Friday’s prices.
Naguib Club, former general secretary of the gold division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, told Masrawy that the price of a gram of 21 carat gold decreased during the beginning of today’s trading by 4 pounds to 830 pounds compared to 834 pounds yesterday.
The price of a gram of 18-carat gold was about 711 pounds, and the price of a 24-carat gram was about 949 pounds, and the price of a pound of gold reached 6,640 pounds.
Globally, the price of an ounce fell to less than 1900, to reach 1899.8 dollars at the end of yesterday’s trading, the last sessions of the week.
And gold rose to a peak of more than a week after US President Donald Trump said on Twitter that he and his wife Melania had contracted the Corona virus.
Today and tomorrow are official holidays in the global stock markets.
