The price of gold tumbled during trading in Egypt on Monday, and the gram is down £150 from its mid-trade level, with the metal surging globally, according to Naguib Club, ex general secretary of the Gold Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce.
The price of an ounce of gold fell by £75 at the start of trading, before rising again by the same amount in the middle of trading, then falling again during trading.
Gold prices today
The price of 14-karat gold has dropped to £1,100 per gram.
The price of 18-karat gold fell to £1414 per gram.
The price of 21-karat gold has dropped to £1,650 per gram.
And the price of 24-karat gold has dropped to £1,886 per gram.
