Gold is trading to its lowest level in a week

Gold prices recorded the lowest settlement price in a week, but closed above $2,000 levels, amid the rise of the dollar and the increase in the possibilities of raising interest rates next month.

Gold futures fell at settlement by about 1.1%, or $22.6, to $2,003.8 an ounce, which is the lowest settlement price for the most active contract since April 3, after it fell below $2,000 levels during the session, according to CNBC.

And gold prices recorded the sixth consecutive weekly gains last week, but they fell for the third session in a row on Monday, with calm trading on the occasion of the Easter holiday in most European markets.

Last week’s US jobs report showed that the economy added 236,000 jobs, exceeding analysts’ expectations.
