Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qimai recently announced that Kaohsiung City will issue childcare allowances and childcare subsidies in advance. Kaohsiung has increased the quasi-public childcare subsidy since October 2011. The subsidy for quasi-public childcare centers is 8,500 yuan per month, and Kaohsiung will further subsidize 2,000 yuan per month. The total subsidy is 10,500 yuan; the monthly subsidy for the prospective public nanny is 8,500 yuan, and the additional subsidy is 1,200 yuan.
