Gojek, Grab, and ShopeeFood have denied involvement in the call for the Jokowi End Game national demonstration.
In a poster spread on social media, it was mentioned that the demo will be held on Saturday (24/7) at the State Palace.
This demonstration was held to reject the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) which will be held on Saturday (24/7).
The information that was distributed was in the form of a poster that reads Jokowi End Game, using several brand logos from the ShopeeFood, Gojek and Grab applications.
Radynal Nataprawira, Head of Public Affairs for Shopee Indonesia, said that the ShopeeFood logo included in the poster was done without Shopee’s knowledge, and he confirmed that the use of the logo was a hoax.
“ShopeeFood ensures that this is profiteering and is a hoax. The material does not represent us as a company,” said Radynal in a press release, Friday (23/7).
His party also appealed to ShopeeFood driver partners not to be provoked given the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, and the current implementation of PPKM Level 4.
Separately, President of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata also emphasized that his party was not involved in the movement that included the Grab logo on the digital poster.
“We hereby emphasize that Grab is not involved at all in this movement where the inclusion of the company logo is carried out by irresponsible parties,” said Ridzki in a written statement.
Similarly, Gojek Indonesia also denied involvement in the action and the profiteering of the logo. Through an official statement, Gojek said that the inclusion of the Gojek logo on the poster was a violation of the misuse of the company logo.
“We deeply regret the misuse of the Gojek logo without our permission and knowledge on content or posters related to rallies and political activities,” said Rubi W. Purnomo, Gojek’s SVP Corporate Affairs.
Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus asked the public to prevent crowds and not hold a Jokowi End Game demonstration to avoid clusters of Covid-19 transmission.
Until now, Yusri explained that his party still had not received a notification letter regarding the plan for the Jokowi End Game demo, which was rumored to be held tomorrow.
