Enjoy the beach, or go on an adventure in nature? Then don’t forget to pack these essential gadgets.

Put a location tracker in your suitcase and you always know where your luggage is. Not an unnecessary luxury when you think of the current chaos at the airports. You buy the bluetooth gadget for a few tens. You can see where your suitcase is at any time via an accompanying app. But you can also use the tracker for your wallet or backpack, for example.
–
Apple has an AirTag, Samsung has a SmartTag. If you want to use one of those two trackers, you must also have a phone from that brand. If you have another smartphone, take a look at Tile’s trackers.
–
E-reader
Where we used to stuff our suitcases with books, we have now switched to the e-reader. This not only saves space, but also weight.
–
There are many different devices to choose from. Which one suits you best depends on your preferences. Do you want a backlit screen? Does it have to be waterproof? At least the Kobo Libra 2 and Pocketbook Touch Lux 5 are good choices.

Music
Sometimes you want to shut yourself off from the rest of the world while on vacation. Especially on the plane, so that you are not bothered by that snoring passenger or that screaming child next to you. Headphones with noise canceling are a must. This technology can dampen ambient noise, so you can watch a series or listen to music or a podcast in peace.
–
If you want to enjoy music with your travel group, use a Bluetooth speaker. You can connect this small device to your telephone, so that you also have something to listen to if your apartment does not have a stereo.
–
USB charger
If you have booked a hotel room or apartment, the question is always how many sockets are available. And there are plenty of devices that need to be charged: your phone, e-reader, camera. Not to mention your electric toothbrush. Therefore, always take a charger with multiple USB inputs with you. This way you can charge all your devices at once. Just don’t forget to pack the corresponding chargers.
–
Also always find out whether you need a world plug at your holiday address. In some countries the sockets look different and you need a device that supplies the correct power. These world plugs are now also available with multiple USB ports.
–
Power bank
Are you planning to go for a long stretch hiking? Don’t forget to bring a power bank. A power bank is an extra battery. This way you can fully charge your devices without the need for a socket.
–
Of course you have to charge the power bank every now and then. So if you’re going to go on a day-long jungle trek, you’ll need a different solution. Then choose a solar power bank: a battery with small solar panels that charge themselves in the sun. Very handy, but then the sun should not stay away.
