Gohar World: A Surreal and Whimsical Journey in New York

In New York, the Gohar sisters open a new chapter in the history of their brand Gohar World with the inauguration of their first store, on Lafayette Street. On the tail side, Laila Gohar, a culinary artist who stood out with his collection of tableware for Hay. Front side, Nadia Gohar, painter and sculptor. The duo is at the origin of the Gohar World label, created in 2020, which creates a line of objects and accessories for the table, a tribute to craftsmanship and resolutely tinged with humor.

A surrealist repertoire, composed of trompe l’oeil candles, satin bread bags, shirt-shaped tablecloths, delicate mother-of-pearl cutlery and even a mini lace apron to dress the bottles. These mischievous and poetic creations can now be found in the brand’s first physical space. Imagined by Rafael Prieto of studio Savvy, the place aims to transport its visitors to another world. It is also a nod to all the countries that inspire the Gohar sisters and the know-how that they are keen to perpetuate, from Egypt to Italy via Austria.
