GOG teased Denuvo in connection with recent events

GOG, CD Projekt’s digital store, took advantage of Denuvo‘s communication debate over the weekend to highlight a key feature of its products: no DRM. Using a post on X, the store promoted the company that makes the infamous anti-hacking system.

Last week, Denuvo Software Solutions created a Discord server to try to communicate with players, allowing them to ask questions in a free channel, which, however, quickly became filled with insults , threats and various insults, so much so that he took the company. to suddenly shut down the server to restore order and change strategy.

It’s hard to say when Denuvo’s Discord server will be up and running again, but in the meantime, GOG took the opportunity to raise some awareness:

It seems that there was DRM software over the weekend… However, I don’t know anything about it since I was playing my favorite childhood games, non-stop, completely off -line, running them directly from the co-operator (which I have also saved on an external hard drive). I highly recommend everyone to have the same experience.

GOG is a store known for selling DRM-free games and providing easy-to-store installation files. The post is clearly trolling, and a very mild one at that, but it highlights some current issues in video game preservation, also related to the use of some DRMs.
