Godzilla Vs. Kong: Junkie XL releases music for both monsters

The Dutch composer Tom Holkenborg alias Junkie XL is known to be responsible for the film music Godzilla vs. Kong responsible. Now Holkenborg has released the musical theme for both Godzilla and Kong before the film opens.

The Kong theme is called “Skull Island” and has a dramatic start before it hits softer and more sedate tones. Godzilla’s theme, on the other hand, is “Pensacola, Florida” – it is massive and threatening.

With his work, Junkie XL follows in the footsteps of Alexandre Desplat, Henry Jackman and Bear McCreary, who wrote the music of the previous Monster Verse films. The composer is among other things for the soundtracks too Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool and Alita: Battle Angel known. He also contributed the film music to the Snyder cut of Justice League.

The American theatrical release for Godzilla vs. Kong was recently brought forward by two months, so that the film will now start on March 31st and at the same time be available on the streaming service HBO.

In this country, the film has meanwhile been brought forward to March 25th. However, since it is unlikely that normal cinema operations will be possible again on this date, there are many indications that the film will celebrate its premiere on Sky. Sky is the German partner of HBO Max.
