Behind the scenes, there are whispers about several names – Vladimír Weiss, the current coach Štefan Tarkovič, Adrián Guľ or even the Czechs Pavel Vrb or Petrov Rad.
According to the betting offices, the top favorite is the coach of the Bratislava Slav, Vladimír Weiss Sr., who has worked for the national team in the past. However, he has a valid contract with the Slovak master and therefore his employer also has something to say about his performance in repro.

“Our priority in winter is to arrange ourselves so that we know what we can expect in the summer. If coach Weiss is to leave, he will leave now in the winter and join the national team. So far, we will find a coach who will be here for the next six months and will prepare the team for European competitions, “said the football official. in an interview with RTVS.

We will either agree with him to continue cooperation in the next period or we will look for an alternative. Such an alternative, which is ready to move our team in the winter and then fight with it for European competitions, “he added.
The Slovak national team did not make it to the world championships in Qatar. Two rounds before the end of qualifying were known that he would not advance. That is why Štefan Tarkovič’s chair is more than uncertain. In addition, his contract with SFZ has expired.
Weiss recently indicated that it would be an honor to lead the national team.

Weiss st. led Slovakia from 2008 to 2012 and led him to a historic advance to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Before returning to the club scene as a Slav coach, he led the Georgian national team (2016-2020). Weiss has a contract in Tehelné pole until the summer.
