Users can play God of War in 4K resolution and 60 fps.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SANTA MONICA — God of War, one of Sony’s exclusive games released on the PlayStation 4, received an update on Tuesday (2/2). Sony Santa Monica Studio announced in a blog post, Monday (1/2).
Reporting from The Verge, Tuesday (2/2), this new update will allow early PlayStation 5 users to run games in 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. If users have a digital or physical copy of the PS4, they will receive an update at no additional cost.
Santa Monica Studio also announced that users are downloading God of War via the PlayStation Plus Collection will have access to the PS5 optimization patch.
The blog post also mentions the owner PS5 will have access to native PS4 graphics by selecting “Original Performance Experience” which will run the game in 4K resolution, but at 30fps.
God of War isn’t the only PS4 exclusive to receive next-generation focused updates. Sucker Punch Productions’ newest title, Ghost of Tsushima, also received a patch optimized for last year’s PS5, allowing games to run at 60fps if the user has a PS5.
