“God is an Astronout” will visit Riga on a tour organized in honor of the 20th anniversary of the group’s existence – the worldwide known “post rock” group was founded in 2002 by twin brothers Nils and Torsten Kinselas, inspired by German “krautrock”, especially the group ” Tangerine Dream”, progressive rock and electronic music. In the same year, the debut album “The End of the Beginning” was released on its own, which received considerable praise from listeners and critics. Also, two videos produced by the group members were released, which ended up in rotation on MTV Europe.

However, the group has always been against falling under the umbrella of music industry giants – producers and publishers – and the commercialization of music. It has released most of its eleven albums on its own label “Revive Records” or collaborated with independent labels in Europe. “God is an Astronout” latest album “Somnia” was released in 2022.

This year, the group will come to Latvia to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album “The Beginning of the End”. As usual for “God is an Astronout”, the musical impressions of the album will be complemented by a special visual video material.

“Each of our albums is a sonic photograph that captures a moment and who we are at that moment,” the band members said about their music.

“God is an Astronout” has already visited Latvia several times, performing both at the Ęertrude Street Theater, at the club “Nabaklab” and at the club “Melnā piektdiena”.
