Vinicius Junior (65th) and Joselu (70th), who later missed a penalty (84th), ensured the final score in the eighth win in the ninth game of the season. Real is still two points ahead of the surprisingly strong FC Girona, who won 1-0 (0-0) at FC Cadiz.
“Bellingham played like he always does. He finds a lot of opportunities in attack and since he doesn’t have a fixed position, he causes a lot of damage to the opponents. Nobody expected this number of goals,” said Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti at the subsequent press conference.
Bellingham has now scored ten goals in his first ten appearances for Real. In doing so, he equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s start record from 2009. With an additional three assists, Bellingham has two more in terms of goal participation than CR7 in his first ten Real games.
