Goal in injury time; North East loses ATK to ISL semi-final

Madgaon: North East United drew with ATK Mohan Bagan in the second semi-final of the ISL. Idrias Zilla scored in the third minute of injury time to give North East United a 1-1 draw with ATK.

In the 34th minute of the first half, Idrissa Zilla shocked ATK with a goal from David Williams. With the win, North East also managed to maintain a record of not losing in eleven matches. The second quarter semi-final between the two teams will take place on Tuesday.

ATK Mohan Bagan, who has been attacking from the start, has the upper hand in the match. But they had to wait half an hour for the first goal. David Williams netted the North East net with no errors from a pass from Roy Krishna just outside the box.

ATK had a one-goal lead in the first half but North East also intensified their attacks in the second half. In the 66th minute, Idrissa Zilla came on as a substitute for Benjamin Lambot. Finally, in injury time, North East’s long-awaited goal came.

Idrias Zilla scored North East’s equalizer with a high ball head from Luis Machado. Taking advantage of the lack of Tiri and Sandesh Jhinkan in the ATK defense, North East scored the winning goal with a high ball.
