Teo Hernandez Very happy to score his first goal world Cup. The goal was dedicated to his brother Lucas Hernandez.
Theo paved the way for France to the 2022 World Cup Final. In the semi-final against Morocco on Thursday (15/12/2022) WIB early morning, Theo scored France’s opening goal in the fifth minute.
It was the fastest goal in a World Cup semi-final since the 1960s. Randal Kolo Muani’s 78th-minute goal ensured France won 2-0.
Theo continued his brilliant performance in this tournament when he was given the role at left-back, which was expected to be filled by his older brother Lucas Hernandez.
The left back position belonged to Lucas when France won the 2018 World Cup. However, Lucas’ knee injury in the first match against Australia brought blessings to Theo.
Theo has not moved from the left-back position and has developed into a threat to the opposition along with Kylian Mbappe. Theo is therefore hoping that this goal will be a consolation for Lucas, who is recovering from knee ligament surgery.
He wanted his older brother to be able to watch his action in the final against Argentina on Sunday (18/12/2022) WIB evening at Lusail Iconic Stadium.
“This goal is for my brother, he’s watching from home. He’s very proud of me and also of the team’s results here. I hope he’ll be here on Sunday. Now we have to work hard for the final,” Theo said on the official FIFA website.
Teo Hernandez he made his debut for Les Bleus in 2021 with a tally of two goals in 12 appearances.
