In addition, the US Women’s Professional Golf (LPGA) tour exceeded $5 million in career prize money.
Ko Jin-young won the LPGA Tour CME Group Tour Championship (total prize money of $3 million), which ended at Tiburon Golf Club (par 72, 6556 yards) in Naples, Florida on the 21st (Korean time) with a final total of 18 under par 270 strokes.
Ko Jin-young, who received the winning prize of $1.1 million (about 1.2 billion won), added $48,7286 to the second place prize for the US Women’s Open, which ended on the 15th, and raised a total of $1,87286 in about one week. This is about 1.74 billion won in Korean money.
Among the 18 LPGA Tour tournaments held this year, the CME Group Tour Championship and the US Women’s Open are the 1st and 2nd places with the largest winning prizes. With this victory, Ko Jin-young became the 71st player in the LPGA Tour’s career to exceed $5 million in prize money ($5.6 million,824).
Ko Jin-young, who has not missed the world rankings since July 2019, has set a record of becoming a prize winner after playing only 4 competitions on this year’s LPGA tour.
Ko Jin-young participated in the LPGA Tour competition from November due to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) this year, and this was the fourth event of the season.
Having played only four competitions and became the prize gold king, it is the lowest prize gold prize in the history of the LPGA Tour since 1989.
