“Unlucky 1 shot” Choi Kyung-joo, second place in the Champions Tour
Kyung-Joo Choi (52) lost his second championship in the PGA Champions Tour.
Kyung-Joo Choi reached 5-under 67 in the final round of the Champions Tour Dominion Energy Charity Classic ($ 2.2 million in total prize money) held at The Country Club of Virginia (par 72) in Richmond, Virginia, USA on 24 ( Korean time).
After finishing the tournament with a total of 13 under 203 in the third round, Kyung-ju Choi took second place, one shot behind Stephen Alker (New Zealand).
Choi Kyung-ju, who won the first Champions Tour championship at the Pure Insurance Championship in September last year, is the runner-up this season, following the March Hog Classic.
Alker, who hit a 4-under 68, one more than Kyung-Joo Choi, won the win with a birdie from the 15th to 17th holes in a row.
Alker, who had no presence on the PGA Tour but has been reborn as the strongest player on the Champions Tour, featuring players over the age of 50, has already won his fourth championship this season alone.
Alker has finished in the top 10 24 times, including five victories in 31 Champions Tour competitions.
Yang Yong-eun (50) tied for 22nd place (4 under par 212).
