Airlines Citilink and GMF AeroAsia aircraft maintenance services received a warning from the Ministry of Transportation. This is because 19 Citilink aircraft have problems but are still operating.
Through a warning letter numbered A4-402/8/3/DKPPU.2020 this warning was given by the Directorate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations (DKPPU) which was addressed to the Accountable Manager of GMF AeroAsia and VP Engineering & Maintenance Citilink.
Responding to this, Citilink’s VP Corporate Secretary & CSR Diah Suryani said that GMF and Citilink appreciated the attention of the DKPPU in ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft and safe air traffic.
During the COVID-19 pandemic since 2020, it had an impact on the aviation industry, both domestically and globally. “For this reason, we continue to closely coordinate and entrust all aircraft maintenance to GMF as a provider of aircraft maintenance services to jointly ensure that all Citilink aircraft under maintenance meet the established flight safety standards,” he said in a statement, quoted by Antara. VP Corporate Secretary & Legal GMF Rian Fajar Isnaeni stated that his party had ensured that all customer aircraft, in this case, Citilink, at the-release has been stated to fly.
“GMF has met requirements as stated in the document minimum equipment list (MEL) belongs to the operator, namely Citilink, which has been issued by the aircraft manufacturer and approved by the local authorities,” explained Rian.
