Glyfada: The unpaid ENFIA, the agreement of the Karnesi family and the handwritten note – 2024-02-17 00:01:24

Carnage occurred shortly after 10:00 on the morning of Monday, 12/2, when a 76-year-old former employee invaded a shipping company armed, on Artemisiou Street in Glyfada. He opened fire, killing three people, before killing himself.

The perpetrator, originally from Egypt, who had been close to the family for 36 years, after spreading death, ended his life in the basement of the building with a carbine, which was found next to him.

The reason, according to the information, was his dismissal and the fact that he was asked to leave the house that the Karnesi family had given him.

LIVE NEWS made a revelation about the house. Specifically, this house – according to documentary evidence from the land register – belongs to Spyros Karnezis.

The question remains unanswered, however, as to whether Maria Karnesi was in charge. Despina Karnesi is going to answer many questions with her testimony. According to the LIVE NEWS information, the police contacted Despina Karnesi but she refused to testify for now.

The unpaid ENFIA in Petalios

In Petalios, the small island at the edge of the Euboean Gulf, was the villa of the shipping family Karnesis where the 70-year-old originally from Egypt, whom everyone called “Mars”, worked and who bled the family’s shipping company in Glyfada on the morning of Monday (12/02).

Petalio is rightly described as the “Greek Maldives”. It is the islet where the murderer and autodidact of Glyfada worked as a caretaker, an islet of unique beauty located opposite Rafina.

However, as revealed by the Publishing Consultant of the “Economic Post”, Nikos Filippidis, the Karnesi family has never paid ENFIA for this particular house.

In total, the unpaid ENFIA for the house in Petaliou is estimated at 2.5 million euros, excluding the 2023 and 2024 ENFIA.

The agreement between the Karnesis brothers

LIVE NEWS presents the agreement the Karnesi brothers had made, whereby none of the brothers’ children could claim the property after their death.

“Finally, what was already self-evident was expressly agreed upon, that is, in the event of the departure or death of any of us, the company would continue from the rest for an indefinite period (without any third party entering it due to inheritance, since it was expressly provided for in as above document that, if someone leaves, by decision of the other partners he is awarded an amount for his percentage)”.

“It is particularly emphasized that, as was agreed from the beginning and expressly clarified in the 1994 Family Practice document that captured our above agreement and our related rights, all revenues from our shipping operations (e.g. whether the freight or even the price from the sale of a ship) was placed either with the shipowners or with our respective management company, and each of us had the option of withdrawing profits according to our needs, with the remark that, if anyone asked, we would be liquidated between the partners for these profits”.

The journalist, Savvas Athanassiou, spoke to LIVE NEWS about how the family got into this disastrous relationship.

“There is the prophetic text of the private agreement of 1994. It says somewhere ‘let’s see the next stage so as not to damage the company.’ Another point of particular importance is that it is stated that spouses and children are prohibited from taking the shares. In fact, it also prohibits women from giving orders to the staff. Today, Despina and Spyros Karnesis are left.”

The handwritten note of Spyros Karnesis

The document in question was written 30 years ago, in 1994, when the family was still loved.

Among the things agreed that day at the family council were:

Think about where we sit and do this council think about the salaries we get the profit distribution figures the houses we live in our cottages the houses our lifestyles and also think about where we are 20 years ago and then say a big thank you to God that:

a) it still gives us the greatest good, health (we must keep it as long as we can).

b) it gives us a lot of money that we really don’t know where to spend it.

c) Let all of us reflect that the next stage after here needs great attention, prudence and self-criticism because it is precisely the stage where because we have everything and so richly neither God nor our conscience allows us to have a complaint. Because if after all this we have a complaint, it is so unfair that it can lead to damage to the company and worse to health.
