Glyfada: The medical examiner was shocked by the beatings on the 14-year-old – 2024-09-26 16:47:11

There is no end to incidents of violence between minors. The latest victim is a 14-year-old girl in Glyfada, who was beaten by more than 20 people, with the medical examiner being shocked by the extent of the beatings.

“When the medical examiner saw the 14-year-old, he was amused,” says special police analyst Stavros Balaskas, speaking to MEGA.

“So many blows from 25 to 30 guys who had fallen on her and were beating her mercilessly under the influence of two girls. The faults that these two accuse her of, who started and encouraged the others, are that she is very beautiful, first grader and that she is also an absentee».

«The anger came from jealousy. They were very jealous of her, they urged others too, the others saw havale, entered and started kicking, punching her in the head, stripping her clothes, leaving her in her underwear. All this happened because of the jealousy of two female classmates,” he said.

“They were filming it, they were overhead with their cellphones. The coroner freaked out, he’s got a lot of hits. She couldn’t find a small spot on her body that wasn’t bruised. (…) Arrests have been made and now the preliminary investigation will be closed so that they can proceed to the arrest of the parents”.

So far, two minors and their parents have been arrested.

Therapeutic and reformative measures

Referring to the incident, lawyer Evita Varela pointed out the important role of parents.

“We are talking about 14-year-olds, so I imagine that the offenses that will be attributed will involve bodily harm, it can also be characterized as dangerous. We will talk about misdemeanor acts. I rule out the question of imposing a sentence in this case, the girls are too young. Therapeutic and reformative measures should be considered,” he said.

Mrs. Varela highlighted the role of parents in these cases. “They will be charged with neglecting the supervision of a minor, but the issue is much bigger. There is a familiarity to the violence that arguably has to do with the fact that this music has become an anthem to violence. Trap can be interesting but ultimately it’s a hymn to violence and familiarity,” he concludes.
