Cuban singer Gloria Estefan has been one of those selected to participate in the new documentary series The Thread, where she will recount key moments in her life, such as her family’s escape from Cuba and her father’s arrest.
The series, which will begin this March 4 through YouTube, will begin with the story of Estefan, who has been honest with the public and has decided to share not so glamorous moments in her story.
The first episode, titled ‘Gloria Estefan: Singing through the struggles’, will also show the impact that music has had on the singer’s life, the purpose it has given her, and how she made way for the Latin market in USA.
Of course, she will also talk about her relationship with Emilio Estefan, how they met, and how their marriage has been a perfect formula for success, which remains strong after several decades.
According to Estefan herself, music not only motivates her, but it became an escape from the most stormy moments of her life, and although at first she had no idea of the fame she would achieve, she now appreciates that influence to be able to help others in their difficult moments.
“I would never have imagined being an artist. But I can inspire people who are going through their own difficulties and that gave a lot of purpose to my fame,” said the interpreter.
Although Estefan will open this season, the show will have 16 half-hour episodes each, where celebrities such as the singer, the prominent athlete Tony Hawk, among others, will talk about their lives in an inspiring tone.
The documentary series is produced by the organization What is Life, and will begin its weekly broadcast that will be from March 4 to June 17, with stories that will motivate the viewer.
