Global news commemorating dreaded New York terror attack amid COVID-19 disappointment – MJS13.info

This year marks the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack in which nearly 3,000 people were killed when hijackers flew commercial planes into New York’s World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a area near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The September 11 attacks rocked the United States and had widespread influence around the world, as it was one of the most horrific attacks by the al-Qaeda terrorist group.

On its 19th anniversary, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum said on Twitter: “Nineteen years ago, under blue skies, 102 minutes changed our lives forever. On Venus, September 11, we will be part of the nation and the world. Is a pioneer in observation. The anniversary of 2001 is the 19th anniversary and asks you to join us in remembering it. ”

During the incident, approximately nineteen al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four US passenger planes and used two planes to crash into the twin towers of the World Trade Center complex in Manhattan.

The third plane crashed at the Pentagon, with the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense located in Virginia, and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania when passengers attempted to retaliate.

In less than two hours, two 110-story towers of the World Trade Center collapsed. The attack killed the nineteen hijackers, later claimed by Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, leading to the US war in Afghanistan and indirectly the invasion of Iraq.

Several memorials have been erected to commemorate the victims of the September 11 attacks. These include the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York City, the National Flight 93 Memorial in an area of Stonycreek Township in Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington County in Virginia.

Meanwhile, New York City will hold its annual ceremony today to commemorate those who lost their lives in the September 11 attack amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
