Global Hepatitis Outbreak Infecting Children Now Coming to Japan and Canada

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The mysterious liver disease that has infected children in a number of countries around the world has now reached Asia, with one case reported in Japan, Guardian report.

Case hepatitis acute or inflammation of the liver recorded in Japan, of unknown origin.

The local government discovered the case in a child on April 21, 2022.

The child tested negative for adenovirus and Covid-19.

The patient had also never had a liver transplant, the health ministry said on Monday (4/25/2022), without providing further details.

Meanwhile in Canada, the Public Health Agency said on Tuesday it was investigating the reports hepatitis severe acute disease of unknown origin occurring in children.

It did not say how many cases or where the patient lived.
