The World Health Organization stressed the importance of obtaining the seasonal influenza vaccine for a number of groups that the organization described as “most in need”, explaining that “the influenza vaccine can be obtained by anyone.”
The organization said on its official page on social media, on Wednesday, that “anyone can be infected with influenza, but certain groups have a greater risk of contracting severe disease. The World Health Organization recommends that they be given priority.”
The organization identified the “people most in need” to receive the seasonal flu vaccine, namely: “health care workers, older individuals, people with basic health conditions, pregnant women, and young children.”
