Companies worldwide distributed a record $326.7 billion in dividends to their shareholders in the first quarter of this year, a report shows.
In total, global dividend payments rose by 12 percent between January and March compared to the same period last year, which was already at a record high level then, according to the report from asset management firm Janus Henderson.
The amount of USD 326.7 billion corresponds to approximately NOK 3,578 billion.
They believe the dividend growth is all the more impressive considering that 2022 was a difficult year for the world economy with high inflation, rising interest rates, conflict and continued corona lockdowns.
