Glints enlists Blu Samu for new single “So Sorry” ahead of upcoming album release

Anyone who hasn’t seen Glints live at work in 2023 probably didn’t want to. Just to say that in our Belgian country there is actually no escaping the rapper from Antwerp. Quite rightly, by the way, because despite that his debut album Choirboy was released on the eve of the first lockdown, today he can still look back on a series of shows where the energy content was extremely high. Now there is more, because at the end of the month Jan Maarschalk Lemmens will release a second album. We are still guessing at a title, but with “Roma” and “All In” we already got two tasty foretastes on our plate. For the third single, “So Sorry”, the Antwerp resident does not do it alone today: Blu Samu is his company.

That Glints apparently, at least musically, borrowed some mustard from Stromae, became clear with those previous two releases. This latest creation is therefore in the same line, which is no surprise. Fortunately, it does not alter the fact that “So Sorry” has again become a fine song, in which Spanish influences rule the roost. Where the castanets still provide the intro, it is the Antwerp native himself who has the say in the grand choruses, including trumpets. A little later, Blu Samu, in Portuguese, joins the whole, causing the temperature to rise. Towards the end there is even a twist that raises the pace even more and Glints shows his skills one last time. In other words, he can look back on a good release.

Glints’ as-yet-untitled second album will be released on April 28. On Saturday May 6 he will present that record in the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.
