Ivan Glasenberg wore a black tie on Tuesday during the press briefing announcing Glencore’s rowdy 2019 results. The billionaire South African, who has led the commodity giant since 2002, has again hinted that he may soon give way. The multinational is preparing its “fourth generation of senior executives,” he said before adding that his successor would certainly be chosen internally.
The Zurich group has had only three directors, including its founder Marc Rich, in forty-six years. Legal proceedings in the United States and England for suspicion of corruption have prompted the company to change boss, analysts said.
