Glen Riddersholm takes over IFK Norrköping

On July 11, IFK Norrköping and Rikard Norling went their separate ways. Now, almost a month later, the club has finalized a new coach. On Monday, the Dane Glen Riddersholm was presented.

It has been a very long, professional and serious process that spanned many weeks. There have been many conversations and meetings with the board, players and club management, so it has been a thorough process that makes me go in with a good feeling. I, and IFK, have a clear picture of each other, says Riddersholm to the club’s website.

At the press conference, Glen Riddersholm confirms that he has signed a 3.5-year contract with Beijing.

Riddersholm pays tribute to Norrköping’s supporters in the press release:

– I am very impressed with how the supporters have been there for the team. I value that highly, especially how the team received support after the match against Gothenburg. I am a coach who wants us to work together and back each other in both tough and good times. We will achieve goals together and I am very much looking forward to being a coach for IFK Norrköping.

IFK Norrköping also announces that Anes Mravac and Vedran Vucicevic will return to their roles as assistant coaches that they had before Rikard Norling was fired.

IFK Norrköping’s chairman Sakarias Mårdh on the recruitment of Riddersholm:

– It has been a careful process where we evaluated many candidates, and now we are happy to be able to present Glen as the new coach. We believe that with his long and successful background, he will contribute with stability and long-term development.

Riddersholm has previously been a coach in Århus, SönderjyskE and FC Midtjylland (which he led to league gold in 2015).

IFK Norrköping is eleventh in the Allsvenskan and on Sunday they face Elfsborg in Borås. Then the team will be led by Riddersholm.
