Dimitar Glavchev presented his office to President Rumen Radev. Finally – Atanas Ilkov is the person who will replace Kalin Stoyanov in the Ministry of the Interior.
Another change in the official cabinet is the foreign minister. This time, Glavchev proposed that Ivan Kondov take over the post.
“I want to congratulate you for listening to the public’s calls to reduce political tension and strengthen guarantees for holding fair and free elections, as is the main constitutional task of the caretaker government,” Radev said and announced that more tomorrow he will issue a decree for the appointment of the official cabinet. The head of state expects it to be sworn in on the same day.
The President announced that tomorrow he will also issue a decree that early parliamentary elections will be held on October 27.
“Along with the primary task of combating the bought vote, your government will have to make significant efforts to solve people’s problems in a difficult period,” Radev said, adding that the drought is tormenting thousands of Bulgarian citizens.
“The fight against natural disasters continues and we know from experience that along with fighting fires, we must also be prepared for possible floods. Military actions both north and south of us are escalating and require increased vigilance and adequate measures. The administration is expected to work actively to support Bulgarian business and improve the investment climate. Tasks such as the recovery plan, Schengen, the eurozone and the OECD remain unchanged, and also by the end of the week, your government must broadcast the Bulgarian proposal for a European commissioner,” Radev told Glavchev.
