Glasgow Warriors’ victory over Scarlets in the Challenge Cup has boosted Connacht’s chances of Champions Cup qualification. If Scarlets had won, they would have replaced Connacht as the United Rugby Championship’s final qualifier. Now, only a Benetton win in the Challenge Cup or the Sharks winning the URC can ruin Connacht’s Champions Cup dreams. Glasgow will face the winner of the Benetton-Toulon match in the Challenge Cup final while the Sharks will take on Leinster in their URC quarter-final. Stafford McDowall scored two tries as Glasgow beat Scarlets 35-17, while Steff Evans scored the Welsh team’s lone try. A crowd of 13,000 watched as Glasgow came from behind to clinch victory.
