Glaserei Hohmann in Lünen is insolvent

The Hohmann Glaserei at Cappenberger Strasse 34 has filed for bankruptcy. It was known for glazing, repairs, and mirrors. The small business in the inner city of Lüner had existed since 1975. The two managing directors were also the two employees. There was no training there.

Attorney Ingo Buchbender from Dortmund has been appointed provisional insolvency administrator. The sales have not been sufficient lately. That also had to do with the Corona crisis.

The company, which had become a GmbH in 2000, has already been closed. There is no perspective.

Bankruptcies dropped nationwide

Bankruptcies have fallen across Germany and in the Dortmund district court, which also includes Lünen. In Germany, the number of corporate insolvencies fell significantly in 2020 by 13.4 percent to 16,300 cases (2019: 18,830). This is the lowest level since the introduction of the bankruptcy code in 1999, states the credit reporting agency Creditreform.

While the Dortmund district court recorded 28 insolvency applications in January 2020, in January 2021 there were only 18 companies that filed for insolvency or overindebtedness. This can also be explained with help programs and a suspension of the obligation to file for insolvency.
