Glamping operators in Portugal offer Home Made candidates Harry and Jerina a free holiday: “To ease the pain” | Kortrijk

KortrijkHarry and Jerina may not have House from their adventure in the VTM program Huis Made, they can go on holiday to Portugal for free, thanks to a West Flemish couple that keeps a glamping open there. “We recognize ourselves in Harry and Jerina”, say Sophie and Wim.

Sophie Vindevogel (51) from Oostrozebeke and Wim Blommaert (53) from Harelbeke moved to the Portuguese Algarve more than ten years ago. They started the glamping Algarve Safari Lodge there, and have since expanded two other accommodation locations with Algarve Olive Tree Lodge and Algarve Country Lodge. At peak times, about 50 guests can stay at the same time.

“We still follow Flemish television programs, and we’ve had a lot of fun with ‘House Made’ in recent weeks,” says Sophie. “Harry and Jerina were by far our favorites. They had never built before, so it was a trial and error story for them. But they did it really beautifully. We had also given it to them, that house. What a great disappointment that must be. You have a chance to win a house. And then suddenly… you have nothing.”

Sophie and Wim want to ease the pain. “Also because we recognize ourselves in the couple at a young age. They can stay here with us for a week on the glamping, and enjoy the peace and quiet together with their two children.”

Despite the corona crisis, reservations for the glamping are coming in smoothly. “It has been a difficult few months for us, but things are looking good for the summer months.” Jerina was pleasantly surprised at the offer and promised to contact Sophie and Wim.
