In addition, this festival will hold the “2023 Beijing·Tianqiao Musical Annual Ceremony Recommendation Event” from October 25 to October 31, targeting commercial projects on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong and Macao from January 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023. Perform Chinese and foreign musicals and conduct extensive selection and selection. In the end, with each production company voluntarily recommending and submitting, a total of 44 dramas were received for recommendation. These works have diverse themes and diverse contents, reflecting the musical creators’ concern for the times, their understanding of society, and their appreciation of life. It is worth mentioning that this ceremony has specially set up a “Special Contribution Award” to commend and thank those who have made outstanding contributions to the foundation and development of Chinese musicals. Mr. Xu Xiaozhong, a 96-year-old drama educator, director and artist, professor and doctoral supervisor at the Central Academy of Drama, won this honor. As a pioneer of Chinese musicals, he has made outstanding contributions to the development of Chinese musicals.
