Actor Mike Mitchell died after a heart attack he had in Turkey. The actor is known for his roles in the blockbusters Gladiator on Braveheart. Mitchell was 65 years old.The news was announced via the American site TMZ. “It was very hard to believe… The sudden death of an international actor we have accompanied, an honest person, a real actor, a real friend, my best friend, has saddened us deeply,” Mitchell’s manager said in a statement obtained by TMZ.
“I have always been honored to be your manager. My best wishes to your wife, dear Denise Mitchell, and your children. Getting to know you and having your friendship is priceless. Rest in peace. RIP,” according to management.
Known from blockbusters
Mitchell was a bodybuilder in his early years and became Mr. Universe and won the Mr. world. In 2010, he was named the World Fitness Federation’s Living Legend Award.
In Braveheart he was an extra and performed stunts. In movies like Gladiator, the Bond movie Skyfall and a series of smaller films he had supporting roles. The actor still had a lot of plans, given the laundry list with projects on the IMDb.
