Mönchengladbach (dpa) – In view of the tightened Corona measures, Borussia Mönchengladbach is happy to be able to play in front of spectators on Sunday against SC Freiburg (5.30 p.m. / DAZN).
“Of course, every home team is good when the stadium is full. Nevertheless, we are happy that we can have 15,000 spectators at Borussia-Park on Sunday, ”said coach Adi Hütter before the game against third in the table.
Sports director Max Eberl found that this was a situation that one could not be happy about. “We have to come to terms with the specifications that are given to us. 15,000 spectators in the stadium are better than none at all. Of course, the fully occupied Borussia Park exudes a completely different force. But we have to go through that together, ”said Eberl.
Eberl did not want to further evaluate that the crowd of spectators at the Rhenish derby last weekend in particular caused discussions. “I’m not going to start a political discussion now. At the game in Cologne, everyone involved stuck to the applicable rules. As far as the spectator capacity is concerned, nothing was implemented that did not comply with the safety precautions in force at the time, ”said Borussia’s sports director.
