The anticipation of the new Bundesliga season in Gladbach is huge. Since Daniel Farke (45) took over as coach at Borussia Mönchengladbach, there has been great euphoria and a spirit of optimism in the Lower Rhine.
And: After the disappointing 2021/22 season, which the Foals ended in tenth place in the table, club officials and fans are now hoping for more successful times again.

However, a former Bundesliga coach does not believe that Gladbach will be able to repeat their old successes in the coming season: Felix Magath (69)!
In an interview with the sports magazine “sports picture“ predicts the performance of all Bundesliga clubs in the coming season.
And: When it comes to Magath, Borussia Mönchengladbach does not do well at all. But on the contrary! If the prediction of the now retired trainer is correct, the foals will finish the season even worse than last year.
Because: Magath only sees the foal eleven in 13th place in his forecast. And what is even more surprising: Magath sees promoted Schalke and almost relegated Stuttgart (last season in 15th place) in front of the foals – just like Rhineland rival Cologne.

“FC and Baumgart fit perfectly. I’m convinced that the team from Cologne will continue the good season of the past year and get through the season without worrying about relegation,” he explains.
And to the two climbers Bremen (landed at Magath on relegation rank 16) and Schalke he says: “Both clubs live from the euphoria of promotion. If Schalke and Bremen get off to a good start, it could be a carefree season for both. If that doesn’t work, things could get tight for both of them, because there aren’t any major leaps forward due to the economic situation.”
Incidentally, in Magath’s season forecast, FC Bayern will, unsurprisingly, become champions, he sees VfL Bochum and FC Augsburg as relegated.
