This is its second edition, the piano festival of Giverny (Eure) returns to the Museum of Impressionisms in May 27-29, 2022.
This year, the Piano Festival takes you on a journey to New York. On the program, three concerts alternating French and American music, to echo the Monet/Rothko exhibition.
Piano-lecture
Friday, May 27 at 8 p.m., pianist Vanessa Wagner, musical director of the event, will open the festival with a piano-lecture duo with Romane Bohringer. The actress will read the collection I’ll be the fire by Diglee, which brings together the texts of French and American poetesses from the end of the 19th century to the present day.
Récital
Saturday, May 28 at 8 p.m., Jean-Marc Luisada will give a recital. “Immerse yourself in the music of Fauré, Chopin, Debussy and Gershwin”, specifies the museum.
Will be performed: Nocturne No. 11 in F sharp minor and Nocturne No. 2 in B major and No. 6 in D flat major by Gabriel Fauré, Nocturne in B major opus 62 and Nocturne nocturne no. 1 in D flat opus 27 No. 2 by Frédéric Chopin, Book of Images n° 2 by Claude Debussy and Rhapsody in blue by George Gershwin.
Piano and voice
Sunday, May 29 at 4 p.m., it will be a melodious dialogue between piano and voice.
Soprano Marie-Laure Garnier and pianist Célia Oneto Bensaid form a talented duo with obvious complicity. In this program, they create a real dialogue between French melody and Spirituals around the themes of the sacred and hope.
For this performance, they have reworked two sound universes, one tinged with gravity and the other using plainsong, and revisit spirituals, such as gospel or jazz, with a contemporary eye.
Museum of Impressionisms, 99, rue Claude-Monet in Giverny. Duration of performances: 1h30. Price: €20 (full price), €18 (reduced price).
