“Give us back our land,” statue of Christopher Columbus vandalized in Central Park

Two suspects went to the Christopher Columbus statue in Central Park and painted slogans and damaged the structure with paint.

The men wrote slogans such as “Murderer” and “Give us back our land.”

The New York police published images from a surveillance camera where the two subjects are observed reaching the statue and jumping the metal protections to vandalize it.

Subjects used red spray paint to make the paintings.

In addition to the slogans, they painted various parts of the statue.

The events occurred on February 26 at 10:15 p.m..

The police seek to find the vandals and put the phone number 1-888-57PISTA for those who might have information.
