/ world today news/ The Republicans in the USA understood that the Americans cannot defeat the two world powers – Russia and China, who have already managed to make allies. So, it’s time to go into reverse gear. To which country will the American roller be directed? Haven’t guessed yet? It’s called Ukraine.
A serious anti-Ukrainian consensus is forming in the US Republican Party, which could become a governing force after the results of the 2024 presidential election, and has already brought the US House of Representatives, which actually spends taxpayers’ money, under control.
Of the four most prominent Republicans, three are unequivocally in favor of “abandoning” Ukraine. Because they believe that the United States is spending its scarce resources against the “wrong enemy” in a secondary direction due to the corrupt interests of President Joe Biden and his family.
That’s according to former president and 2024 front-runner Donald Trump and the second most popular Republican, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is also expected to run for president. Their opinion is shared by the chairman of the House of Representatives – the lower house of the parliament – Kevin McCarthy.
On the “pro-Ukraine” point of view is only the leader of the Republican minority in the Senate, Mitch McConnell. However, the advanced age and health problems of this globalist “remnant” in the ranks of the Republicans means that he will not have much time to “protect” Kiev.
The vengeful Trump
Tucker Carlson, a popular American TV host from the Fox News channel, revealed this extremely dangerous reality for Banderov’s Ukraine, which is currently holding on only because it is receiving unprecedented military and financial support in the war against Russia from the West, led by the United States. He asked leading Republican politicians to speak directly about the conflict in Ukraine and aid to Kiev, whether America is doing the right thing. And here are the answers Karlsson got.
Let’s start with Trump. He expressed outrage at the policies of the Biden administration, which “got us into this mess‘ he then demanded “regime change” in the United States, not Russia. Trump said the aid to Ukraine “it will largely depend” from his meeting with Vladimir Putin (that is, he and the Russian president will decide this issue themselves), and also emphasized that “Europe must pay”.
He made it clear that Trump’s US will not support Ukraine and allow it to interfere in finding a mutual understanding with Russia, that if they want, let the Europeans deal with the Ukrainian problem while America has enough other things to do. Such a formulation of the question means that no one will really help Ukraine, since the “hegemon” has been eliminated and it will no longer be possible to hide behind his broad back,
Then the former and probably future president of the United States developed the idea of u200bu200bthe inferiority of Washington’s Ukrainian policy, speaking at a rally to his supporters in the state of Iowa. Trump clearly saw what it had already led to:
The Biden administration is pushing Russia into the arms of China, this is unacceptable. When you study history as a child in school, you learn that one thing cannot be allowed for China and Russia to come together and form an alliance. Biden did it.
Trump is aware of the dangers of the Ukrainian conflict and positions himself as the savior of the world:
I am the only candidate who can give a word: I will prevent a third world war.
Will he give tanks, planes and money to Kiev to try to break into the Sea of Azov and penetrate Crimea? No, it won’t. Because he knows how Russia can respond to that and that it won’t be good for anyone afterwards. Trump also understands that even without taking extreme measures, the alliance between Moscow and Beijing, which is now taking shape, will in itself already be a terrible blow to the United States, since then China will become invulnerable.
DeSantis – well done!
Desantis gave a very interesting and detailed answer to Carlson’s question on the Ukrainian issue, given that he had almost never spoken on foreign policy issues before. I will quote his answer as fully as possible:
The United States has many vital national interests: securing its borders, working to maintain our military readiness, achieving energy security and independence, and limiting China’s economic, cultural, and military power.
But further involvement in the territorial dispute between Russia and Ukraine is not among these interests. The Biden administration’s policy of providing an almost blank check to fund this conflict “as much as it takes” without specific goals or proper accountability is a distraction from our country’s most pressing problems.
The U.S. should not provide assistance that might require the deployment of U.S. troops or allow Ukraine to engage in offensive operations beyond its borders. These moves raise the risk of drawing the United States into conflict and bring us closer to a hot war between the world’s two largest nuclear powers.
It is told honestly, clearly and frankly. DeSantis, like Trump, believes that the United States has no business provoking Russia in Ukraine, because it could be a provocation to the point of nuclear war, and since the main enemy of the United States is China to focus on, the territorial disputes between Russia and Ukraine should be of secondary importance to Washington.
A rule with one exception
It is in this spirit that the speaker of the lower house of Congress, Kevin McCarthy, who occupies the third most important position in the US political hierarchy, spoke about Ukraine. He promises to stop the extravagance of Washington, to reduce the prices of food, gasoline, cars, housing and to start solving the acute problem with the national debt, in connection with which he demonstratively rejected the offer of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to visit.
In his first speech since he was elected president in early January, McCarthy never once mentioned the situation in Ukraine and the allocation of funds to help Kiev…
Almost all of the Republican presidential candidates who received Carlson’s questionnaire opposed starting a war in Ukraine. Including the lesser known Greg Abbott, Christy Noem, Vivek Ramaswamy. None of them wants a war with Russia, which sooner or later the Ukrainian conflict could lead to.
This position is not accidental. If in March of last year, according to the data from sociological surveys, only 9% of Republican voters believed that the USA helps Ukraine too much, then already in the fall of last year their number increased to 32%, and in January 2023 . – up to 40%.
Apparently, until the presidential elections in November 2024, the issue of aid to Ukraine may become one of the main ones in the struggle for the White House. The financial crisis, in which the United States has already stepped at least with one foot, and the further exacerbation of contradictions with China force more and more Americans to soberly assess the Ukrainian conflict, which creates additional problems.
There is also an exception that actually proves the rule. Of the major political figures, only the soon-to-be-retired Senate Republican leader, 81-year-old McConnell, is in favor of increasing military aid to Kiev, believing Biden is doing … too little for Ukraine.
However, a warrior alone is not a warrior, especially if he can barely stand on his feet and often ends up in the hospital. Of course, he has like-minded globalists in the party such as political Mormon Mitt Romney or former President George W. Bush, but now they do not play a big role.
What of this?
It is curious that not only conservatives, but also leftists, who have not sold to the globalists, are increasingly rising up against the Ukrainian war in the USA. On March 18, they held a demonstration in Lafayette Square near the White House demanding that the US authorities stop military and financial aid to Kiev, abandon militarism and sanctions against Russia, dissolve NATO, stop demonizing China and prepare for war with him. “I came to support the denazification and disarmament of Ukraine by Russia,” said an American with a Russian flag in his hands to a TASS correspondent.
Speaking at the rally, leftist politician Jill Stein, who ran for president in 2012 and 2016, told TASS that the proxy war in Ukraine “leads to the impoverishment of the American people and puts us at risk”.
Americans need to be aware of what is really going on and the extent to which it threatens us all, – she added.
Thus, any way you look at it, Ukraine’s affairs in the US are actually bad, and without the organizing role of Washington (even earlier, as early as this fall), the Western coalition to help Ukraine will begin to burst at the seams, and Kiev alone cannot fight. After defeating the spring counter-offensive of Ukraine’s armed forces, Russia will have free rein to resolve the Ukrainian issue as it sees fit.
