President Marcos Criticizes Controversial Provisions in Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Bill
MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin has defended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s opposition to what he called “ridiculous” and “abhorrent” provisions in the proposed Senate Bill 1979,has denied claims that the bill’s Complete Sexuality Education (CSE) provision includes inappropriate concepts or threatens Filipino values. Bersamin added, “If he probably read something that indicated to him that is going to include masturbation, he’s entitled to that opinion.
