Applause and emotion at the ADI Design Museum Compasso d’Oro in Milan for the screening preview of the documentary film dedicated to Giorgetto Giugiaro, the designer of the century, the creative from Garessio, 85 years old, who designed the lines of more than 300 cars from the Panda to the Golf, the DeLorean, the Chevrolet Testudo and many others.
«Giugiaro. Drawing the future” is the title of the work, directed by Marco Speroni, which will be broadcast on Friday 3 November at 4.00 pm on Rai Tre.

For the documentary film, family, friends, critics and journalists were interviewed who told us who Giugiaro is, even beyond his professional successes
At various moments you can also listen to Giorgetto himself talk about himself and describe the cars he has designed and which he is most fond of, from the Fiat Panda and the Volkswagen Golf to models or concepts considered icons of the history of the car.
This is the case of the Chevrolet Corvair Testudo, the DeLorean DMC-12 (the protagonist of the film Back to the Future) but also the Alfa Romeo GT Junior and the more recent GFG Sibylla.
The documentary film shows Giorgetto painting a large triptych – 5 by 4 meters – which can be admired in the church of his hometown Garessio. Or while he climbs his mountains riding a trials motorbike, an adrenaline-filled activity that helps him, at the age of 85, to stay young and active.
But most of all – the authors reiterate – there is a quality that characterized (and still characterizes him) the brilliant Giorgetto Giugiaro. It is curiosity, which is the basis today of the experimentation, together with his son Fabrizio – of innovative aesthetic and technological solutions and with an inimitable personality.
The work (produced by Silvio Ricci for Siri Video) has a duration of 56 minutes and will be broadcast on Friday 3 November at 4.00 pm on Rai Tre. The documentary – written by Riccardo Mazza and directed by Marco Speroni – will then be visible on the Rai Play platform and abroad through Rai Italia.
