Olivier Giroud explains why Milan joined from Chelsea and reveals the goals of the Rossoneri this season.
The French forward moved to the San Siro in a € 1 million deal from Chelsea over the summer, signing a two-year deal with the Serie A giants.
The 34-year-old has scored two goals in four appearances in all competitions so far this season.
“It was an obvious choice to join Milan. I supported this club when I was younger, the teams with Papin, Van Basten and Baresi. I am proud to have joined this club and I look forward to having fun here, ”said the former Chelsea star. Telefoot.
“The welcome I received was wonderful. I was received like family. I made a great debut, I feel very good there and I’m hungry to win with Milan ”, he added.
The Frenchman was recruited as a backup to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but now has regular playing time as the Swedish striker recovers from injury.
“Zlatan is a legend and there will be real competition between us,” Giroud said.
“I can score at least 15 goals, that’s what I hope. If I play every game, that’s what I hope for ”.
But what are Milan’s goals this season? Can they win the Serie A title after returning to the Champions League?
“I hope so, we have the quality and the young players. It’s a clear goal we have, ”admitted the former Arsenal and Chelsea star.
“I liked the Premier League, but at some point I had to make a decision. I told Tuchel that the last three months had been too difficult.
“It was an obvious choice to leave Chelsea, I went forward with great emotion for all the moments that we live. Some were good, some were not so good, but we won three important titles ”.
