Météo France placed the departments of Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne on Monday afternoon in orange vigilance at the heat wave. They join those of Gard and Vaucluse already placed in vigilance. The meteorological institute also predicts passages of high clouds over New Aquitaine which will in no way alter the impression of a dry and largely sunny day from morning to evening over the whole territory.

Up to 38 degrees over a wide southwest quarter
Like the previous days, the instability remains limited to the reliefs where stormy showers will develop on the Pyrenean ridges, towards the Southern Alps and the Corsican relief. The northeast wind will remain sensitive on the northern half, it will blow up to 40 to 50 km / h on the Channel coasts.
A little freshness will nevertheless be welcome in the northern third of France with minimum temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees. It will be between 15 and 19 degrees on the southern half at the end of the night, locally 20 degrees on the Girondin shore and between 20 and 24 degrees on the coasts of Languedoc-Roussillon and the Côte d’Azur.

The afternoon will again be very hot. The maximum will be included over a large south-west quarter between 33 and 38 degrees as well as in the Rhône valley and the Mediterranean basin. From 29 to 33 degrees are expected in Corsica. From southern Brittany to Picardy and the Grand Est region, temperatures will reach 28 to 32 degrees. Finally, near the English Channel, it will be 24 to 27 degrees.
