Girona will play PSV without Arnaut Danjuma on Tuesday evening. The Dutch attacker will miss the Champions League match with the club where he enjoyed a large part of his youth training due to an injury.
Girona coach Míchel said this on Monday at the press conference of PSV’s Spanish opponent, who lost 2-3 to Feyenoord at the beginning of October. ‘He has the ability to outwit opponents one-on-one and generate a surplus, but we have to look for solutions. We believe that the eleven of tomorrow are more than ready to compete at a good level.’ Gabriel Misehouy has been left at home.
Míchel does have Donny van de Beek and Daley Blind at his disposal in Eindhoven. ‘These are players with international experience who help us grow enormously, in the game and in mentality. They are very popular in the dressing room and this is important because the human factor wins games.”
“Tomorrow we have very little to lose and a lot to gain,” the Spanish coach said about the match. ‘We are facing a historic club that has become champions of Europe. For us, playing on this stage is not a normal situation. We are living a dream and it is a historic milestone. PSV has not lost at home for two years. They are Eredivisie leaders and play good games in the Champions League. They are a team that has the ability to play attacking and we will have to keep up with the pace.”
