They are daughters or granddaughters of feminist activists, grew up with a keen awareness of patriarchy and with the idea that women can conquer their freedom. The Iham Maad and Merry Roger podcast series gives them the floor. Strong stories.
Daughters and granddaughters of illustrious feminists, how do they grasp this heritage? For the podcast Wrestling girls (Spotify), Iham Maad and Merry Royer met several of them, including Agnès Fonbonne. Her mother, Thérèse Clerc, was a great activist for the right to abortion. She remembers assisting her mother in covert operations on a kitchen table – until the Veil Law was enacted in 1975. She thus grew up in a world where women have power. Yet it will fall under the yoke of the patriarchy, “Where everything is subject to guilt for the sole purpose of cornering women, stuck between all their roles. Why should you choose between being a good mother, a caring woman, or an ambitious hard worker, as if you didn’t have the right to be all of these at the same time. “ Words that find an echo among producers: « Swe have been given an incredible strength, that of going to conquer this freedom which slips through our fingers, and to send out these guilt to embrace our struggles. »
