Girl picked up by air ambulance after drowning accident in Forsand

A girl was transported to hospital by air ambulance on Sunday after a drowning accident in Forsand swimming pool in Rogaland. The girl was conscious when she was picked up.

Southwest police district informs Stavanger Aftenblad that the child was found on the surface of the water, and that emergency measures were quickly implemented.

Sveinung Sviland, business manager for urban management in Sandnes municipality, says that a lifeguard got the girl ashore and immediately started with lifesaving.

– The girl was conscious when she was transported to SUS (Stavanger University Hospital) by air ambulance, says Sviland.

The swimming pool was closed immediately after the incident. The police were notified of the accident at 15.15.
