NEW YORK – Rescuers had to extract a girl through a hole in a wall after she was locked in a dressing room on Long Island.
The Port Jefferson Fire Department said the call came Tuesday afternoon after the girl was accidentally locked in a locker room that once served as a bank vault.
She was trapped when her little brother closed the vault door without knowing it would close.
Rescuers used air chisels and hammer drills to break through the 12-inch-thick wall.
Once the hole was large enough, firefighters were able to remove the girl, shocking images show.
The girl was not injured in the rescue.
