It reports Chart Data. The album is according to Billboard the ninth biggest seller among this week’s list debutants.
Marie Ulven (22) from Horten, known under the artist name Girl In Red, recently made her album debut with the album “If I Could Make It Go Quiet” – which has been praised by Taylor Swift and VG’s reviewer.
The album is one of the few Norwegians that has reached the American sales list – Billboard 200, as the list for long players is called.
To date, Kygo has the best Billboard 200 placement of a Norwegian artist: He went to 11th place with his first album, in 2016. The sequel had to settle for a 73rd place. His latest, “Golden Hour” from 2020, reached 18th place.

a-ha is still the only Norwegian artist name that has topped the American singles chart, with “Take On Me” on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985. Their first album went to 15th place on the album chart, the following two to 74th and 148th place.
Nico & Vinz reached fourth place on the singles chart in 2014 with “Am I Wrong”. The following album reached 45th place – and dropped a hundred places the following week.
M2M (Marion Ravn and Marit Larsen) got an 89th place in 2000. TNT managed 100th place in 1987.
Dimmu Borgir took 42nd place in 2010, and 43rd place in 2007.
The Girl In Red album has received several prominent first-week placements, not least a seventh place on the official sales list in the UK.
Furthermore, it goes to 10th place in Australia and 19th place in Germany. In the Netherlands it also reaches seventh, in Belgium 11th place.
Here at home, the record goes to second place VG-list.
